1.What is a "wikipatent"?

Basically, it is photo, text, music or video that describes a unique subject. The subject can be anything you are able to imagine or create.

2.Is it free of charge to register a wikipatent? Should I pay for downloading other people’s wikipatent content (pictures or texts)?

It is totally free. Firstly, the registration of a WP is free of charge. Secondly, using other people’s WP’s is free as well. You may download original quality photos or texts of other people’s wikipatents free of charge and use them as you desire. It is up to you whether or not to donate to the WP owner. There are no obligations – you are free to do what you want.

3.What can I register as a wikipatent?

There are no limits to wikipatent content (except as regulated by law and common decency). A WP can be anything your imagination is able to create or something that exists in the real world, unless someone else beat you to it and has already registered the same thing. So be fast! Pay special attention to the subject under which you register your WP. You cannot register a wikipatent that has already been registered, but we believe you are creative enough to create your unique WP!

4.Can I download pictures and texts of other people’s wikipatents? Should I be registered on the site in order to download content?

Wikipatent.com is open for everyone – you don’t need to be registered in order to enjoy free downloading. In other words, you are welcome to download any wikipatent content free of charge. You may download pictures or texts separately. The quality of downloaded pictures can be very high or quite low, depending on the original picture of the wikipatent owner.

5.Why should others be willing to share their high quality pictures or other content for free?

Because everyone who registers wikipatents on our site supports our BIG IDEA, which is quite simple: All web content should be free of charge and the owners of that content should earn money through donations.

6.What does virtual ownership of a wikipatent mean? What is it for?

It means that you own a unique subject on wikipatent.com and no one else can own the same thing. Due to its uniqueness you may share your wikipatent subject with thousands of people who value your creation and who will be willing to donate to you depending on the perceived added value your WP creates and, of course, depending on their good will.

7.Is wikipatent ownership legally protected?

Nope. It is purely virtual.

8.What is the difference between a legal patent and a wikipatent?

There is a huge difference. Firstly, we don't provide any legal protection to wikipatents. Nonetheless, you may register as a wikipatent anything – any thought or idea, a color or even something that already exists as a legal patent. We protect your ownership within this website. Secondly: Usually, in order to register something that already exists as a legal patent you need the permission of the owner of that legal patent and pay royalties for using that patent. Here, on wikipatent.com, you’re not limited in that way. It is your decision whether or not to donate to the owner of a wikipatent.

9.Do I need to sign in to register and create my own wikipatent?

Yes. You may register yourself either by using your e-mail or by signing in using your Facebook account. We do not use your e-mail or Facebook account to spam you. Moreover, we don't have the option of a news / update subscription. All communications regarding your wikipatents (for example, if someone wants to buy your WP) are conducted via your wikipatent account.

10.How do I make sure that my wikipatent is unique?

Do a search on wikipatent.com before registration. To be unique is quite simple, since the subject of your registered WP may vary only slightly from someone else’s WP. For example, you travelled to Paris and proposed to your girlfriend near the Eiffel Tower. You have a beautiful picture of the Eiffel Tower and both of you next to it from that day. You would like to register this moment as your wikipatent, but someone else has already registered the Eiffel Tower as an architectural object. In addition, you discover that others guys’ marriage proposals have also been registered as WP’s with a picture of the Eiffel Tower. No problem! You may just specify the date or people on the photo in the description of your wikipatent. Your moment will be different and unique!

11.How can I earn money using wikipatent.com?

To earn money on wikipatent.com you need to be registered on the site and enter your PayPal e-mail into your profile. Your PayPal e-mail is required only if you have at least one patent which is put up for sale. There are two ways to earn money here: you may get donations from other registered users or you may sell your WP. The more people value your WP and the more unique it is, the more people might be willing to pay for it.

12.Are you talking only about sharing my wikipatent on Facebook?

Nope. Sharing your patent information via FB is good, but we’re talking about sharing your wikipatent with the world by giving anyone the opportunity to download the content of your patent free of charge. There are three ways to share: 1. You may express your attitude to the world by registering unique wikipatents and sharing your WP with others. 2. Tell your friends about your WP using Facebook and engage others to download your WP free of charge. 3. You can give your WP as a present to your loved ones as a very unique gift!

13.Should I be registered or signed in to view my friends' wikipatents?

No. Use the search by owner option on wikipatent.com to see what WP’s your friends have registered. Donate some amount (minimum $5) to your friend if you like his/her wikipatent. Ask your friends about the subjects of their wikipatents via Facebook or your account on wikipatent.com to get more insights or stories.

14.How can I communicate with the wikipatent community?

Post your comments to other people’s WP’s in Facebook or send messages to WP owners via your account on wikipatent.com. You may also see other people’s messages on your account.
